V2 is here and we have a lot to show you

We couldn't be more excited to unveil FrameAuth (previously FramerAuth) V2 to you all today.

We started planning V2 back in March 2025, and what began as a few improvements quickly turned into something bigger. We had to ask a difficult question: do we iterate or rebuild?

Shaped by feedback from V1 and beta, we rebuilt FrameAuth (previously FramerAuth) entirely from the ground up. This is not an iteration, but a transformation.

This rebuild has unlocked capabilities, features, and future possibilities, making previously impossible tasks and features not only possible but seamless.

A brief history

Before we get into what’s new, let’s take a brief trip back in time to look at how we got to where we are today.

FramerAuth was started in June of 2023 after founders Joel and Danny exchanged messages as strangers on Twitter about the possibility of creating a Framer-native solution for memberships, auth, and gated content. That simple but powerful idea quickly grew into a shared mission that inspired the beta version of FrameAuth (previously FramerAuth), which launched in September of 2023.

Today, FrameAuth (previously FramerAuth) is the number one auth platform for Framer, powering more than 5,000 websites.

After over two years of working remotely, Joel and Danny met in person earlier this year and set up an office in England. None of this growth would be possible without the support of people like you, and we’re excited to show you the future of FrameAuth (previously FramerAuth).

Here’s everything that's launching today in V2…

Stripe

Easily the most requested feature, Stripe is now available, enabling you to sell access to your digital content through free, one-time, or subscription products.

Not only does V2 unlock Stripe, but under the hood, we've built a universal payment adapter that sets the stage for providers like Polar, Whop, Razorpay, and other payment providers in the future.

Lemon Squeezy (improved)

With Lemon Squeezy being our core payment processor in the past, we will continue to support it going forward in V2 and have made improvements to reduce friction.

Customers no longer need to validate license keys after purchasing. Instead, all purchases are attributed through our tagging feature, which automatically assigns a tag to the email used at checkout.

Signed in users will have their email autofilled at checkout. If a user doesn't have an account, one will be created for them based on the email used at checkout. Easier to manage as a site owner and seamless for your customers.

Multi-Product Support

Beta and V1 relied on license keys, which made selling multiple products difficult. V2 removes license keys entirely and makes it easy to sell multiple products, bundles, and access tiers. Customers can purchase, upgrade, downgrade, and manage accounts seamlessly.

Custom Fields

Better understand your users by adding additional user fields to the sign-up and profile form. Collect usernames, birthdays, roles, business information, or whatever else you need without workarounds.

OAuth with Google & GitHub

This launch includes sign-in with Google and GitHub, and we will be adding to the list of providers soon. OAuth makes it quicker and easier for your users to sign in and sign up, boosting conversion and improving the overall experience.

One-Time Password (OTP) Login

Sign in via one-time password (OTP) for quick, frictionless access. Reduce the friction and support overhead caused by forgotten passwords.

Users can now easily enter their email address and receive a 6-digit code to their email, which can be input to sign in.

Tags (access controls)

We've rebuilt how access controls are handled, and today we're excited to introduce tags.

Create tags to segment customers into different groups. Each tag group only has access to the content that you specify. You can think of tags like digital access cards; once granted, the tag dictates which content the user can access on your site.

For example, if a user purchases my Basic product, give them a Basic tag. If a user purchases my Pro product, give them a Pro tag.

Basic tag holders can access only /basic-course pages. Pro tag holders can access both /basic-course and /pro-course pages.

Customers can be given tags automatically from purchases, our API, or they can be assigned manually via the dashboard. Tags will also be removed if a subscription expires or is cancelled, thus revoking the user's access.

Tags are the new backbone of authorization logic, and we hope you’ll find them to be a delightful improvement.

API

We’re introducing our API, allowing you to fetch user data, create users, assign tags, and lock pages programmatically. The API unlocks powerful new horizons for connecting to external applications and no-code automation tools.

With the API, you can now build custom functionality that doesn't exist natively, like connecting FrameAuth with your desired payment processor.

Webhooks

Webhooks enable real-time syncing with CRMs, automation tools, and custom backends, making advanced automation effortless.

Receive real-time updates when users are created, updated, deleted, approved, or rejected.

Analytics

Built-in analytics give you real-time visibility into signups, purchases, and subscriptions. The dashboard now features information about new users, customers, orders, and subscriptions.

New Dashboard

The admin dashboard has been rebuilt to be faster, cleaner, and more intuitive. You'll find more detailed views of your users, easy to manage plugins, detailed tables, and more.

Profile photo component

Users of your website can now upload and update a profile photo directly on your Framer site for enhanced personalization. Utilize the profile photo component available in the plugin.

Multi-project support

It's now seamless to run multiple FrameAuth (previously FramerAuth) projects under a single account, making V2 the ideal choice for agencies and creators working on client projects.

It was previously a pain managing multiple projects since one account could only hold one project. This meant having multiple accounts with multiple emails for multiple projects. A real headache, and we're sorry if you had to jump through these hoops. This all goes away today.

Team access

Invite collaborators to projects and manage permissions without sharing logins. Invite editors, admins, or transfer ownership to someone with our team collaboration feature.

Email verification + controls

You now have the power to control who signs up on your website by enabling verification. Set sign ups to require approval before the user can sign into their account. This protects you from malicious sign ups and keeps your content even more secure.

V2 is live now!

V2 is the most powerful, flexible, and creator-friendly authentication system ever built for Framer. Whether you’re selling digital products, running courses, building memberships, or launching internal portals, V2 is built for you.

V2 is live today, and everything you’ve just seen is available now.

Thank you for supporting our team of creators trying to build something meaningful. You being a part of this journey means the world to us, and we're excited to see what you create with these new superpowers.
